Japanese Writing Practice Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026
Operator: Vibe Programming Lab
This policy applies to the Apple-platform app Japanese Writing Practice (bundle ID vibeprogramminglab.japanese-writing-practice).
1. Summary
The app does not use advertising or tracking SDKs. Learning records and preferences are stored on-device by default. Personal vocabulary content is stored in the user’s private iCloud database only when the user explicitly enables iCloud sync.
2. Data processed
| Data | Condition and purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Learning progress, review history, theme, and settings | Learning features and preferences | On-device |
| Vocabulary-list titles/notes and word spelling, reading, meaning, and hints | Personal vocabulary features | On-device |
| The personal vocabulary content above | Cross-device sync only when iCloud sync is enabled | The user’s private iCloud database and a local replica on each device |
| StoreKit transaction identifier | Prevent duplicate purchase processing | On-device |
| Limited sync event metadata | Sync status, error, and recovery | On-device; operation type, time, success status, and error domain/code only |
| One-way iCloud account fingerprint | Account-boundary and migration safety | On-device |
3. Photos and OCR
A camera image or photo selected by the user is processed on-device with Apple Vision to recognize Japanese words. The original photo, full recognized text, and OCR candidates are not retained after the review session. Only entries the user confirms and saves are added to a vocabulary list.
4. iCloud
Sync is optional. When enabled, Apple CloudKit stores vocabulary content in the user’s own private database. The developer cannot arbitrarily access another user’s private database. Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to iCloud processing.
5. Data not collected and tracking
The app does not collect advertising identifiers, location, contacts, search history, or browsing history. It does not use ads, third-party analytics, profiling, or cross-app tracking. Raw user content is not written to diagnostic logs.
6. Retention and deletion
Removing the app deletes local data on the device, but may not delete vocabulary already synchronized to the user’s CloudKit private database. Turning off iCloud sync does not itself delete data already synchronized. To remove synchronized data, use the app’s deletion function or Apple’s iCloud data-management controls. The developer cannot remotely delete data from the user’s private database.
7. Public support portal
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and support requests use GitHub Issues. GitHub may process visitor logs and account information under its own policies. Do not post vocabulary content, photos, iCloud account details, or other personal data in a public issue.
8. Contact and requests
For general deletion instructions or policy questions, use the public privacy request form. If your request requires personal or account-specific information, email gooldare@naver.com. Do not include sensitive data in the public form.
9. Changes
If processing changes, this policy, the Privacy Manifest, and App Store privacy answers will be updated together.
